The 3 day workshops are aimed at all levels, the class is held in an up and running upholstery workshop, with all the tools and equipment required at hand, including pneumatic staples guns, a sewing machine and overlocker.
Each student brings along a fixed upholstery piece to work on, though I do request a photo so I can ensure it is suitable, such as a footstool or small lounge chair. Please note, you will need to be able to transport your piece to the class on Tuesday morning and take it home with you on Thursday.
You will also need to provide your top fabric – this is the fabric you have chosen to cover your piece with, ensure it is upholstery weight and meets fire regulations.
In addition, any materials you may require, such as hessian, calico, webbing etc, can be purchased from myself during the course or feel free to bring what you need along. I am more than happy to talk through your piece prior to coming along to advise on top fabric, materials required and where to purchase foam if required as I don’t stock this.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, though I would recommend bringing lunch along as the closest shop is a good few miles away.
