I received a call in November from www.makethemostof.co.uk, they had seen a chair on my website that they wished to use for a staged room at the Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair in Harrogate.
Makethemostof have been recruiting new members from furniture to fabric designer,s and are using their pieces to put the bedroom set together.
Working alongside makethemostof and Alexander Designs, I created a piece for their bedroom set. I used a Parker Knoll wing chair, that I saved from a customer who was going to take it to the local tip. makethemostof chose Harlequin, Polka to go with their design set.
The dark brown varnish has been carefully removed from the legs. I recovered the chair by following its natural shape, adding my own modern twist to the vintage piece, by tweaking the traditional upholstery methods of keeping patterns vertical.
